Kho Phangan to Bangkok

Take me to your visa / Hasta la visa, baby! / visa the days of our lives

We're up to our neck sorting out visas for Vietnam, Loas / China, it's all been very complicated. A man in Kho Phangan officially assured us that we need to BE in Bangkok to get our Vietnam visa, so we left the island and took an overnight bus to the city. We needn't have though, and have since applied over the internet with guidance from my old man!

We plan to travel slowly from Saigon North to Hanoi, and eventually get a bus across to China. The national TET festival, which starts on the 14th Feb, brings Vietnam to a halt, so we need to be sorted by then with a Chinese visa, or if that isn't possible, we will try to get to Laos!

Two weeks left in Thailand, I'm finally getting to grips with haggling, and fighting over every Baht! We're going to a few bars tonight, beers are about 50B (1quid) and buckets of rum and coke are about 200B. So far the budget is intact, and we will be heading down to the slightly cheaper beaches around Krabi and Phi Phi soon.
